About Emergency First Response
The Emergency First Response (EFR) Training is the first prerequisite for beginning the Rescue Diver and Divemaster courses. This training includes training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) which is part of performing primary care. If you have already obtained an EFR certificate (within the last 24 months), you are automatically qualified to begin your Rescue or Divemaster courses. If not, you will be required to take this one-day Emergency First Response (EFR) training.
Primary Care and CPR training can provide you with the knowledge to save a life in case of an emergency. Additionally, secondary care (first aid) training can help you take care of injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life-threatening, but still require assistance and close monitoring.
This course begins with an instructional video, after which students and instructors will go over the theory and practice simulations of how to behave in cases of emergencies. This course provides learners with a better understanding of emergency situations and allows them to assist victims before the arrival of the medical professional team, not only in incidents involving diving but also in everyday life.
